day 5

Today we had 2 speekers, one was from the polinski childrens center. This is a center that helps abused children. this is the main one I will be talking about becuase it is my main subject. We learned alot about the main types of child abuse. the most common ones are neglect and verbal abuse. another common type of abuse is physical abuse. Did you know that child abuse is highly related to homlessness. 3 out every 10 homless people were in foster care (most people in foster care are there because they were abused by there parents. we asked the women what we could do to help. she told us we could raise money or bring in any goods. so we decided to take action. we planned to host a concert to benefit the polinski childrens center. It will be at HTM on April 11. It will feature bands among the high tech village such as Mondays alibi, Odens fist, Chad & Michele and Alive on Q. It feels great to really take a stand and change the world. We also did a diaper drive for homless mothers babies and children. this was very successfull. We got lots of babie suppllies. Most people in front of vons were genouros and donated stuff. but some people didnt want to help or were in a hurry. but in the end we got more people who were genouros then people who were not. so I felt good.
